Bang Pae Waterfall

To get to Bang Pae Waterfall, turn east at Heroine’s Monument and keep going for 9km until you see the elephant sanctuary – turn left here. Bang Pae Waterfall is officially the largest waterfall in Phuket, but it is still only 15 meters high. Nevertheless, it is a popular place for sightseers, and there are various amenities here, including a car park and some nearby eateries. It’s a great place to bring lunch with you – the beautiful scenery and the shade make for a very pleasant picnic for families and couples alike. The waterfall is very strong during the low season, and bathing is not advised – however during high season, it’s possible to go and have a dip in the waterfall pool itself, or the nearby drop pools. As with any waterfall expedition, sensible shoes are recommended, and something to ward away any mosquitoes may be useful.
