Gibbons Rehabilitation Project

Address: 104/3 M.3 Paklock, Talang, Phuket 83110 Thailand
Phone: +6676 260491
Email: grp@warthai.org

The aim of the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project is to protect and nurture Phuket’s population of gibbons. It is found close to Bang Pae waterfall, and the GRP take their duties very seriously, preventing poachers from shooting gibbons for meat or capturing them to be used for entertainment. It’s a great place to come to see gibbons in their natural habitat, and it is a beautiful area. The Gibbon Rehabilitation Project charges no admission fee, and they are always willing to educate visitors about the problems associated with the mistreatment of gibbons. They urge you not to have your photo taken with a baby gibbon, since it may encourage the trade in captured gibbons. If you are planning a day out around the Bang Pae waterfall area, it is well worth a visit.
