Located near the Two Heroines Monument to the north-east, the Thalang National Museum commemorates the victory of the citizens of Phuket and showcases other parts of Phuket’s history and culture. Naturally, the part played in the battle of Thalang by the Two Heroines is given great prominence, and it is a good way to learn the whole story behind the invasion and take in some of the historic Thai culture surrounding that time period. There are also displays devoted to the ordinary day-to-day lives of the people of Phuket 200 years ago, which give you a fascinating insight into their lives. Museum entry fees are very inexpensive, and it is a great place to stop off if you find yourself in the Thalang area.
