Cape Panwa
Cape Panwa is located in the south-east of Phuket, and has several beautiful beaches. Cape Panwa’s beaches, such as the outstanding Ao Yon beach, have escaped any overdevelopment. They offer you a quiet haven under the palm trees, with the sand almost white in color. The shallow blue sea means that it is a great place to bring your family, who can splash around to their heart’s content while you work on your tan.
The view from Ao Yon beach is magnificent, taking in as it does the whole of Chalong Bay, as well as Lone Island. Many local fishermen dwell on the beaches themselves, so you will get a genuine taste of Thai culture from your sun lounger. As well as Ao Yon, there are many other beautiful beaches dotted around Cape Panwa, and you will enjoy the chance to explore them all and find your favorite.
As well as having some fine inexpensive hotels, Cape Panwa also plays host to two of Phuket’s best 5 star resorts – the Radisson Plaza and Sri Panwa Resort. These offer guests the ultimate in luxury and refinement. To add to the authentic Thai experience, Phuket Town is less than 10 minutes to the north. It is a large place, offering a wealth of shopping destinations, bars, restaurants and clubs. As Phuket Town mostly consists of local Thai people, you will find it offers a real taste of Thai life, as well as various big name shops and department stores.
Cape Panwa’s close proximity to Chalong bay and Phuket Town make it an ideal base from which to explore this uniquely Thai part of Phuket. The local people are very welcoming towards couples and families alike, and you will find the beaches to be both quiet and unspoilt. Cape Panwa gives you a unique taste of paradise.
