Mai Khao Beach
Mai Khao Beach joins onto Nai Yang Beach to create the longest unbroken beach in Phuket, stretching out almost to the horizon at over 10km in length. It is a very beautiful beach, and you are guaranteed a wide stretch of sand all to yourself if you are prepared to walk a little way. During peak season, the seas become very flat and mirror-like, making them ideal for swimmers and non-swimmers alike. The sand is slightly rougher than some of the beaches further to the south, but this is more than made up for with the sense of idyllic solitude that you will feel when you have established your spot in the sun. The natural landscape surrounding the beach is truly magnificent, with virtually no developments spoiling the view. The area around Mai Khao Beach is protected by Thai law as it is part of the Sirinat National Park, so don’t expect to find any tower blocks or supermarkets here!
