Patong’s Taipan club has become very popular in recent years – it has a bit of an identity crisis, not knowing whether it is a pub or a disco. The free entry is a very popular policy, and there is a large Thai contingent in Taipan every night. It is located at the far side of Bangla Road away from the beach, and is right next door to the Baya Beach Club and the Phuket VIP club. Drink prices are reasonable here. If you want to party with Thai people, it’s a great place to go – they often have live music here, and also boast regular DJ spots for those who like to dance the night away. For those who have developed an appetite, there is usually a good selection of food available here.
