Good bookshops with text in English and other languages aren’t easy to find in Phuket. That’s what makes The Books stand out – they have three branches in Phuket Town, and another shop in Patong. They offer a wide selection of titles – covering most genres from fiction and cooking to historical and biographical books. Their main specialty, however, is travel guides, so if you want some expert guidance in book form, The Books is a must-see shop. By Phuket standards, the prices are reasonable. They also stock a selection of US, UK and European magazines. They bill themselves as the best chain of bookshops on the island of Phuket, and their claim may well be correct.
